This musical play tells the story of Sophie's search for the mitten she lost while playing in the snow. This mitten becomes the central theme of the play by acting as a home for several animals, magically turning into the Christmas star and leading Sophie via the shepherds, angels and kings, to the stable in Bethlehem where she meets Mary and Joseph before finally giving a present to Baby Jesus. There are 23 speaking parts, although non-speaking parts could include extra shepherds and angels, and everyone can join in with the nine catchy and original songs. This production has been performed both on large stages (dramatically) and in small churches (statically), it lasts approximately 45 minutes and is suitable for upper infants to top juniors. (Y2-Y6) A CD of Backing Tracks and Vocals is available. Age Guide 5-11. Duration approx 45 mins |
