BODY ROCK is an exciting, up-beat musical which explores The Human Body in a fun way and also introduces the children to different styles of music such as pop, reggae and rap! Synopsis: Sam is having trouble revising for her Biology tests and is transported into the magical world of her own body where Lucy Blood takes her around to meet all the different organs. They each show her a little about their function in the body. In the meantime, Sam contracts a germ and starts to feel ill. The body have to get together, sort out their differences and work on ridding Gary Germ from the body so Sam is well again. They realise that sometimes we can't do everything on our own and sometimes we do need to work together as a team to achieve good results. How to stage Body Rock As a Musical
There are eleven main characters in the play and ten other speaking characters. However, each body character has its own scene within which you can add as many characters as you like. Therefore the play can be performed by either twenty or up to a hundred children! It works well when the eldest children play the main characters and younger age groups help sing the songs with actions. Or in the classroom Body Rock can also be used in the classroom to spice up a science lesson. For example, if you are studying the human body and you were learning about 'the heart', you could learn the song, "Harry Heart" to accompany your learning. All the songs are packed with useful facts and we all remember so much more when we learn it in a song. Has your school been Body Rocked! A CD with both Vocals and Backing Tracks is available.
